Who We Are

Baker Lighting Lab is a collective of researchers and designers who share a common interest in the study of light.  As a lab situated within the Department of Architecture in the College of Design, the Baker Lighting Lab supports research on light as it impacts human perception, well-being, and energy use in the built environment.  Baker is a founding member of the Institute for Health in the Built Environment and collaborates closely with the Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory and the Biology in the Built Environment Center. In addition to its research mission, the lab offers technical support to courses that measure, analyze, and design electric lighting and daylight design systems.
